SDM PRACTILONGA

Hola Tango lovers!!

– Do you take Tango lessons?

– Do you feel intimidated or uncomfortable when you go to a Milonga (Tango Social Dance)?
Don’t worry, because a lot of Tango students, and also Tango dancers who have been dancing for a while now, still find it daunting and challenging to decide when is the right time to go for a Milonga (Tango Social Dance).
Why?
The reason is that to be in an environment that is not familiar and many times (SADLY),
no very welcoming, doesn’t help us to enjoy what we really want to do…
…To dance Tango!
Now we are ready to change the game!
Every last Sunday of the month ‘Showy Dance Melbourne’ will host monthly PRACTILONGA!
What is OUR SDM PRACTILONGA?
It’s a place where we create a relaxed Tango gathering that combines the learning atmosphere of a Práctica with the social feeling of a Milonga.
Just great moments of Tango dancing within a respectful atmosphere.
A place where everyone can dance with everyone, without ANY Judgement.
Dancers can practice, experiment, ask questions, and also enjoy social dancing in an informal environment.
When:
Starting on Sunday the 31st of May.
Time:
From 1 pm to 5 pm:
– 1 pm: Tango class:
This class will be Open Level: special for those who want to brush up their Tango skills and improve their Tango knowledge or simply warm up.
– 2 pm to 5pm: PRACTILONGA:
Time for Tango Social dancing.
When you arrive, we will explain our Tango dancing code of courtesy.
If you are one of our Tango students or has been in our “Showy Dance Melbourne” Tango classes you already know how we behave at SDM. (Very friendly)😉
Amenities:
– Complimentary coffee, tea & biscuits provided.
– Glass of wine & beer at bar prices (really affordable) 😉

Winter is here… and so is the perfect excuse to dance a little closer. 💙
Join us for a full weekend of Tango on June 6–7 at the iconic dance floor in Richmond.

Two nights.
Two well-known Melbourne DJs.
One dance floor. One abrazo. One beautiful weekend together.
We’ll be dancing at:

That’s 8 hours of your favourite Tango music, warm embraces, great tandas and winter magic on the dance floor.
🎟 Weekend pass — $40 – to take advatage of this offer you’ll need to commit to attendace to both and pay $ 40 on Saturday. Your name will be recorded for Sunday’s attendace.

Tango Lesson & Practica

Tango Touch is excited to be teaming up with Tango Rebels for a rare crossover! I will be teaching a layered group class suitable for beginners, with additional layers of complexity for more experienced dancers. We will be dipping into how the body moves harmoniously within itself, with another, with others, and with the music!
Very much looking forward to it!

We are once again teaming up with the wonderful folks at Wheat, Wine & Whisky, for a night of tango. We will be taking over the venue for the evening.

I’m teaching an Argentinian tango class focusing on the importance of momentum – how to create/lead/follow. All levels welcome!

The idea behind this practica:
We want to invite you to bring an intention to this space – something you’d like to work on. Whether developing fluidity in that butterfly boleo, or working on your walk…
I’d like you to come to practice and collaborate with your peers.
Who knows – you might have a way of explaining x move that the person next to you has been struggling with in such a way that helps it ‘click’ in their mind. And vice versa – they may have a gem or two to offer to you. Of course, if you want to dance, that is welcome, too

On Saturday
3-6 pm

$10/ $5 with student ID card

It is air-conditioned, has plenty of parking, and is accessible by public transport.
