ABOUT THE WORKSHOP – IN THE MAESTRO’S OWN WORDS!

Tango from the beginning of its existence has been through a lot of aesthetic changes, from fashion to style of music, different people, different idiosyncrasies, different continents, from Cangengue to Neo, from Di Sarli to Piazzolla, every change has left some standards that are danced in the Tango of today. These standards remain because with time, dancers realised that they work!! They work on the dance floor that you share with others, they work with your flow and movement of your partner, they work because collectively maestros confirmed that they do.

There have been a lot of attempts that have failed to survive, why? Because it didn’t FEEL like Tango. Tango is a unique feeling of electricity running through the embrace that connects both to the earth, a perfect harmony is created when we can balance this amazing structure of two people walking the dance floor to the sound that became the universal phenomenon that Tango Music has become.

In the same way that Tango itself has its endless journey, we as pupils of the artform should embrace it in the same way, by allowing personal evolution, personal development, by understanding that not every movement has to be explained in detail by your teacher but that you can find Tango inside yourself if you know what it feels like.

Understanding where the styles came from and why the standards remained is a very important part of this process.

This year I will be sharing with you 10 of the standards that dramatically improved my dancing, let’s call them LIGHTBULB 💡 MOMENTS.

10 of the magic moments that I still resonate with.

10 of the techniques that I learnt from the maestros of the world including, Miguel Angel Zotto, Jhonny Carvajal, Sergio Cortazzo, Gachi Fernandes, Los Totis, Facundo Piñero, Gustavo Naveira, Vanina Bilous, Gaspar Godoy, Gisela Galeasi, Fabian Salas, Rodrigo Fonti, Rodrigo Palacios, Federico Naveira, Ruben Veliz, Zabrina Veliz, Gavito, Carlos Rivarola, Julio Balmaceda.

See you on the dance floor!
